Travel Wallet –
*Rose Gold RFID Passport Wallet
This is something that I bought for myself after reading that if you want to get a drink at dinner when you’re traveling internationally, sometimes you are required to show your passport (not your driver’s license like you do here in the States). I definitely plan on going wine tasting in New Zealand on Waiheke Island, so a wallet that can also hold my passport is a must-have!
Makeup Bag –
*Lay-N-Go Cosmetic Bag
Most makeup-wearing gals already have a makeup bag, but honestly, you can never have enough. Especially a travel-friendly bag!
This Lay-N-Go drawstring bag allows you to untie the strings and easily lay it out on the counter, keeping your makeup from touching those hotel countertops! I love this idea – it makes for a super quick clean up when you’re checking out of your hotel in a hurry.
Hanging Toiletries Organizer
*Vera Bradley Hanging Organizer
This is one of those things that’s not a necessity when traveling but is definitely nice to have and something that someone may not think of buying for themselves. I got one of these before my NZ trip and I was able to fit SO much in it. It was so convenient to hang it up in the bathroom too, as sometimes there was no countertop space in the bathrooms. I love Vera Bradley products because they are light weight & washable – plus they always have sales.
I always forget how extremely cold airplanes are until I’m sitting on one freezing. On longer flights you’ll sometimes get a blanket and pillow, but in case you don’t a blanket scarf is the perfect substitute. They are super cute and double as a blanket! Of course this accessory would be a little bit harder to wear in the spring and summer months, so you could just pack it in your carry on.
Sitting up and trying to sleep is extremely uncomfortable. I’ll take any accessory that will help me fall asleep on a plane! Sometimes the donut neck pillows are a little uncomfortable if you have a small neck or it’s to plush in the back and doesn’t allow you to put your head against the headrest. Still, it’s way better than no pillow and easy to carry around.
When I’m on a long flight I will totally slip off my shoes and put on some socks to keep my feet warm when I’m just sitting in my chair. It’s also nice to have socks for walking around a hotel or airBnB. These donut socks are so cute – this company makes sushi socks too that I also love 🙂
Travel Skincare + Beauty
Travel Makeup + Skincare-
*Clinique moisture surge mask
This is pretty self explanatory. Travel friendly makeup means more room to pack other items. It’s really nice to bring face wipes or a facial spray for a long flight to freshen up afterwards!
Sephora Favorites Perfume Samples
Perfume samples or roller balls are my favorite to bring when traveling, it’s fun to try out a new scent on a vacation, and then every time I smell it, it will remind me of that trip. Sephora makes some great perfume samplers that have a good selection and a ticket that you can exchange for a full sized perfume or a rollerball of your choice, depending upon the set you get.
Other Beauty Items (hair ties, tweezers, etc)-
LC Lauren Conrad Travel Rescue Kit
It’s easy to forget those conveniences of Home that you won’t have when you’re traveling – nail clippers, tweezers, etc. this little travel kit is super cute, compact and has some items you may not think you will need but most likely will.
BP. Moto Leggings
No matter where you are traveling, traveling in comfort is always more fun. I would never be sad getting a pair of leggings as a gift!
Kate Spade Going Places Watch
This watch is super cute and of course has a travel theme going on!
These cameras are so fun and if you want to really get into travel journaling, they allow you to record memories while still on your trip! Just tape your photo in your travel journal and start writing.
I decided to get a traveler’s notebook and bring it with me while traveling – it was so handy! Before we left, I wrote down our itinerary in it and ideas for activities to do in case we didn’t want to stick to the itinerary. I referred to it daily, because sometimes, plans change (or the weather doesn’t allow you to go see that waterfall you were planning on seeing.) This was also really handy for all of those loose keepsakes you get while traveling. I didn’t do any journaling, but I brought along a roll of washi tape with me and whenever I had a brochure picture or ticket I wanted to save, I just taped it into my travel journal. It was a super easy and quick way to record memories!
Photo Album Service-
Not all of us have the time (or the want) to get into scrapbooking or journaling. It’s still nice to have something to do with all of those cool photos you take on your travels though, so why not let someone else put together a photo album for you? Here are a few online photo album services you can use that are super simple. To give this as a gift you could buy someone a gift card for the service or just make them the book yourself of your travels together!
Shutterfly – If you sign up with my referral link, you will get a 8×8 photo book! Shutterfly always has the best freebies and sales going on. I’ve used it before to create a photo calendar for my mom as a gift (another awesome gift idea!)
Mixbook – I love that this service doesn’t charge extra to upload from your phone or computer. They also allow you to choose from many different layouts and color schemes.
Chatbooks – This service has been showing a lot of commercials recently so you may have heard of it! I love the simplicity of these books.
