Most of you have probably heard of Ebates by now, but just in case you haven’t or haven’t trusted it enough to sign up yet, this post is for you!I first heard of Ebates from many YouTubers I was watching, and it made me skeptical because so many of them were promoting it – so I was thinking this company must just pay people a lot to advertise for them. I was partially right – this company does pay people, but not just social influencers!
This post contains some links that are referral links – there is no extra cost to you (actually, it will get you $10 of cash back added to your account starting out!), but I will receive a referral profit if you sign up from these links. I only link items & services that I love or use myself. Thanks for your support of Latitude & Lattes! 🙂
Ebates is for ANYONE that shops online – so most likely you – the person behind the screen right now!
So what is Ebates?
It’s an online shopping portal that will give you a percentage of purchases made through them in the form of cash back.
How are they able to pay people to shop?
Companies will pay Ebates a commission to have their store on Ebates to get more exposure, and Ebates gives a portion of this back to you – the purchaser!
Every store has a different percentage of cash back that they provide, and this can change – sometimes there are double/triple cash back days, or if the store is having a huge sale the cash back is sometimes less.
What are the other perks of using Ebates?
Another good thing about Ebates is that they alert you to any sales going on currently at stores. There are pretty much 3 ways I find out about a sale going on at a store: my friend will tell me, I get an e-mail about it, or I see it on the Ebates homepage.
What if I can’t remember to go to the Ebates website every time I shop?
Don’t worry, I can’t either!
If you sign up for Ebates, I highly suggest installing the Chrome browser app. I was lazy and didn’t install it for a while, and let me tell you – I missed out on SO much cash back because of it! I would just forget to use Ebates until RIGHT after I hit that “complete purchase” button on a store website and then I would say “DOH! I didn’t get my cash back 😭”
With the browser button installed, you actually don’t even have to click on anything when to make it pop up. As soon as you start shopping at an Ebates active store, there will be a pop up in the top right corner telling you how much cash back you can get and asking if you would like to activate it for the shopping trip. This is amazing and makes sure you will never forget to use it!
So far to date, I have earned $50.98 from Ebates. This number would sadly be a lot higher if I would have installed that browser button sooner!
Do you use Ebates? If so, comment below how much cash back you’ve earned!
